Review:

Myth: 4/5

Deka’s story continues with strong relationships, new challenges and twists and turns galore! I loved the way that book two built on the story and world that we knew from book one, but also made it wholly new. I also really enjoyed Deka’s relationship developments, her friends empowered her and still called her out when she needed it, standing together but also letting Deka do her thing when destiny comes calling.

Magic: 4/5

I really enjoyed the gender exploration in the magic and power system. In book one it was freeing the Guilded Ones, in book two its understanding the Merciless Ones.

Overall: 4/5

A sequel that leaves you yearning for book three. Book two also stands fully on its own, pushing the boundaries on the truths unearthed in book one, Deka and her friends continue to challenge their understanding of the world and their roles in it.
