Review:
As a side note: I reference the graphic novel for the cover photo and goodreads link, but I was so obsessed with this that I couldn’t wait for the other graphic novel collections to be published. I viewed the whole first season on webtoons.
Myth: 5/5
I am a greek mythology retelling fanatic at this point. I’ll consume that content in almost any form and enjoy most of it. Lore Olympus was one of those retellings that was just a cut above an already favorite genre. The storytelling is amazing. Lore’s Hades & Persephone are chef’s kiss. The artwork, especially for the mutual pining facial expressions is really all I needed in life.
It’s not just Hades & Persephone though, Lore Olypus pulls in all the players in greek mythology and combines them into a wonderful woven tapestry of my favorites.
Magic: 5/5
All the expected powers of the greek pantheon. One of my favorites in this series though is the play with Persephone/Kore, the concept of the Goddess of Spring and Destroyer of Men, it just really makes her such a perfect character, especially when paired with the Lord of the Underworld.
Overall: 5/5
Please, just go find and consume it now, it’s definitely worth it. I’m now caught up on webtoon and eagerly waiting for new episodes.
