Review:

Myth: 4.5/5

I loved Persephone. This retelling paints her as all too capable, but playing the part that she thinks will accomplish her goals. It’s sort of the perfect pairing with Hades as the man who builds the myth of a monster for the protection of his people. It also allows them to be the only ones who truly see each other.

Super steamy, as expected, and it really helped highlight both Hades’ and Persephone’s characters.

The world of modern day Olympus and how the 13 rule was a little fluid, not a ton of world building there, but plenty to propel the story and the focus was absolutely on the romance.

Magic: NA

I know, I know, how can I love this so much when Hades and Persephone are essentially mortals not gods and goddesses? It’s unclear, but I know I loved it all the same. They are larger than life characters in the way that celebrities or politicians would be, but they aren’t mythical beings. Anyway you look at it, it worked.

Overall: 4.5/5

I think this is my favorite Hades and Persephone retelling, even without the powers of gods and goddesses. The characters were perfect, the scenario gave the characters the needed choice and opportunity to learn about themselves with each other.
