Review:

Myth: 3/5

A single, independent woman working with the paranormal, Aida is a fun, unique character. She fit well against Winter’s all business (but not necessarily legal business) attitude. They were an entertaining pair as they tried to work through parts of their pasts that they clung to in order for a chance to move forward with each other.

The romance was definitely front and center, while the paranormal was used to drive the characters together, it wasn’t really the central storyline. Aida and Winter figuring out how to shuck off their pasts was as present of a theme as the paranormal, which worked when the paranormal presence was also ghosts.

Magic: 3/5

I thought the necromancy and spirit medium vibe fit well with the San Francisco in the late 20’s setting. Aida had a power all her own and even others in the space couldn’t seem to match her talents. She had just what Winter needed to help him with his troublesome ghost problems.

Overall: 3/5

The misty bay area provided a perfect backdrop for the ghosts and bootlegger story. Aida and Winter had a lot of heat, but the story had one too many “fight and make” ups for me.
