Review:

Myth: 3.5/5

A first in the Psy-Changeling series, a male Psy paired with a wolf. This ventures off from the pattern of the first two books that featured female Psy breaking away from their people. This was even more interesting because Judd has already broken away from the Psy, he’s assumed dead in the Psy world, but his dangerous abilities keep him bound to their practices.

I enjoyed Judd and Brenna’s story, seeing Brenna work through all of the pain from her abduction and the person least likely to help, the man of ice, Judd, being the only one she wants to turn to.

Magic: 3.5/5

We’ve seen some high level Psy throughout the series so far, it was going to be tough to keep one upping their powers, but Judd was so unique and unknown both as a Psy and within the new Changeling world that he inhabits. The story was already fast paced, but Judd’s secrets helped to further propel the story forward as his secrets and those of the wolf Pack are unraveled.

Overall: 3.5/5

Somehow Nalini Singh always knows which characters to dangle in front of you and then later pair. Neither Judd nor Brenna had particularly prominent roles in the first two books, but they definitely grabbed your attention on the page. When I picked up this book, it just made sense. That and a deeper look into the wolf Pack definitely made this a worthwhile adventure in the Psy-Changeling world.
