Goodreads Synopsis

Review:

Since these are short stories, I’ll do short reviews for each installment in the Obsidian Flame series.

Dangerous Dreams (Obsidian Flame #1)

Overall: 5/5

I couldn’t believe that this story was only 50 pages. It had everything. A badass heroine trying to hide from her people. She is inadvertently thrown into a situation she can’t get out of with their leader, and of course he is beyond appealing. I think in 50 pages we seamlessly manage all of my favorite romance tropes, with a dash of hilarious dragon mind banter. Book one left me desperately wanting more.

Dangerous Liaisons (Obsidian Flame #2)

Overall 4.5/5

Raf and Lara are thrown back together. She may have been able to make it out without spilling her secrets the first time, but the second time proves much more challenging. The tension between Raf and Lara is unbearable and the dragons make it so much better. This book also kicks the story up a notch on the dragon’s centuries long feud with a race of giants.

Dangerous Decisions (Obsidian Flame #3)

Overall 4 / 5

The conclusion of the Obsidian Flame series told a sweeping story of one brother’s terrible actions impacting centuries of his descendants. I loved the overarching story and unravelling the origins of the feud, while giving the present characters a chance to try and stop history from repeating itself. This story focused more on Lara’s best friend Misha and Raf’s second, Hank, characters were still great, just didn’t have the same sizzling chemistry as Raf and Lara.
