Review:

Myth 4/5

Another delightful read as we get to see Jessie navigate online dating and blind dates, while still needing to hide her real relationship to the magical acquaintances that keep showing up. (Hilarity ensues.) We get to see a head honcho gargoyle try to woo Jessie, even though he’s coming on so strong she can’t take him seriously, plus all the little tells that this courtship is driving Austin Steele mad, which lets be honest, is fun to watch. We get to see her come into her own as the master of Ivy House and access more of her magical powers as she is stalked by bounty hunter mages.

Magic 3.5/5

We finally get to see Jessie tap into her magical potential (despite a lot of failed training). Jessie also gets a whole slew of male gargoyles that come to her aid and hang around her as they try to help her harness her power.

We see more mage magic when her life is threatened, and are introduced to new forms of magical creatures. And of course our new supernaturals have their own awkward and hilarious personalities, including Ivy House, which we learn has quite a morbid sense of humor.

Overall 4/5

We learn more about Ivy House and the magic that awaits the one who claims it. But the best part of this book was the love triangle, which is fair with a title of Magical Midlife Dating.
