Review:

Myth: 4/5

I felt like Tempting Hades took everything we dislike from the original Hades and Persephone myth and gave it with a new perspective. Kore just wanted to find someone who saw her. Hades did that but also accepted her and wanted her to feel at home in his world, no matter how long it took. Though presented with plenty of challenges, they fight for the future and the relationship that they wanted.

Magic: 4/5

I just about died for Kore when Hades fell to his knees before her, calling her his equal. I don’t consider that a spoiler, it was like in the first few chapters of the story. She didn’t stand a chance from there. He was the only one who saw her and her unique power so clearly. He also did everything he could to let her figure her power out for herself.

Overall: 4/5

Everything you could want in a Hades and Persephone retelling. I loved the framing of this story as offering the true story to one who sought it. It is a unique way to reclaim the story and allow Emma Hamm to make it her own.
