Review:

Myth: 3.5/5

Gul was a quite compelling character, she was alone in the world with her one goal. I wasn’t sold on the Sisters, while every hero needs a training sequence, it just seemed that in later scenes Gul could have much more easily gotten what she needed from another source and bypassed the Sisters.

I got sucked into the story much more when Gul decided to take matters into her own hands and sort of dive head first into the worst possible way to achieve her goal. Thankfully, enter Cavas. Gul and Cavas in the palace, especially the scenes with the princess were some of my favorites. I also really enjoyed the palace politics of who was betraying who this time. I’m a sucker for the court drama, I guess.

Magic: 4/5

The magic unfolds perfectly with the story. All of the knock-your-socks off developments in the character’s magic are perfectly paced through the second half of the story. The character’s magic is tightly woven with their personal development which is also always a plus for me.

Overall: 3.5/5

Gul and Cavas together sizzled with chemistry. The palace scenes really kicked the story up a notch in both world building and storytelling, keeping us on an action packed sprint to the end.
