Review:

Myth: 3/5

I have to say that I was a little unsure about the first 20% or so of this book, the main character, Talia just seemed very young. She did have a good character arc in which her selfless nature and principles allowed her to really come into her own and make her own choices.

Love interest wasn’t my jam, he was more of a Thor character type and I can’t help but love my Loki’s. I’m definitely interested in the second book in the series, as the love interest for that book seems a bit more my speed.

Magic: 4/5

I really enjoyed the world. There was a rich history based mostly on Marcellus’ family, primarily his father. The history is explored through conversation but also through visions, so it was a lot of fun to learn about the past and what brought the characters to this point. I felt like the story really kicked up a notch when Marcellus’ family got involved.

Overall: 3/5

Talia and Marcellus introduce us to a world rich in conflict and struggles for power that have been going on for centuries.
