An Interview with K.E. Blair

Happy Release Day to Myth and Magic’s own K.E. Blair! Her Debut YA fantasy hits the shelves today, and we’re excited to get a little Q&A time with the author.

2. What do you love most about your FMC, Anslee?

I love that Anslee has so much opportunity for growth. She’s young and naive, but she has a good heart and is trying to find her place in the world. She’s going to suffer some huge revelations that will force her to really think about herself and what she wants out of life - I can’t wait for readers to walk through that transformation with her.

3. What are you most excited for readers to know about the book?

I’m excited for readers to feel the same way I did reading some of my favorite YA fantasy books growing up - like The Lioness Rampant and The Immortals series by Tamora Pierce and Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith. Those characters went through so much change, and the setting of the woods and a magical land had such an impact on their stories - I’m hoping to evoke those same feelings of magic and coziness in my readers.

4. Anslee and Magda spend some time in the kitchen. What is your favorite thing to make or bake?

I’d have to say cookies! I’m not a huge baker, but I do have a sweet tooth, and it’s hard to mess those up.
