Review:
Myth 5/5
There is a secret world attached to our own, visible through hidden portals. This is where the fae live. This is the world Cassandra is unwittingly thrown into when she travels to London to profile a serial killer - because that killer is fae.
As she falls deeper into this world, she meets fae thugs, bartenders and mythical townies and an elusive hunky fae that just happens to show up whenever she’s in danger.
It’s a fast paced read with allusions to the mythical showing up at every turn. I couldn’t put it down.
Magic 5/5
Crawford follows a formula when creating these fae worlds that parallel ours, with strong flawed heroines that are forced to live in both worlds. When Cassandra learns she has mirror magic and is able to jump through mirrors between locations And realms, she eagerly uses this to help catch her killer and immediately accidentally jumps onto the fae world. It’s unique magic that furthers the plot in unexpected ways and I love that she wasn’t shy to use it.
