Goodreads Synopsis

Review:

Welcome back to the Hollows. Rachel Morgan and all of her friends are back in action, apparently saving the world wasn’t enough!

Myth: 3.5/5

For the first book back in the Hollows, I think this started a little slow. I appreciated some of the hints covering everything that Rachel had accomplished over the series (for those that didn’t re-read all the books before this came out :) ) however, what we were specifically up to in this book took a little while to kick off.

Don’t worry, Kim Harrison had us by the end.

It’s been five years of our lives since the last Hollows book, but American Demon picks up directly after the events from The Witch with No Name (not after the epilogue).

Magic: 4/5

Rachel is still a complete badass, isn’t that really all we need?

I will add that just when we thought she had it all figured out, a new friend (?) is brought in to help push her even further with her magic.

Overall: 4/5

I was happy to be back in the Hollows and not disappointed that this book set us up for more books in the Hollows to come.
