Myth: 5/5

SJM gets me Every. Time.

Feyre was changed under the mountain. She did things and had things done to her that no one can understand. She may be the savior and curse breaker, but she is utterly alone in trying to piece herself back together after the atrocities under the mountain.

While letting life pass her by in Tamlin’s court, she still has the deal that she made with the High Lord of the Night Court to contend with. Darkness incarnate. Yet…under the mountain, Feyre saw how he pushed her, maybe for his own games, and maybe to keep her from breaking completely.

This installment is heartbreaking as Feyre comes to terms with what she did to survive, to save those she loves. It’s my favorite because she has to learn in the process that she is strong.

Magic: 5/5

The magic of all seven High Lords runs through her body. Feyre is High Fae, but more. She was already a human hunter, now we get to see what adding those Fae sense and powers to the mix gets us and she is awesome.

Overall: 5/5

The overall story changes so critically from the moment that Feyre goes under the mountain. A Court of Mist and Fury picks up with this new tone, so far from a fairy tale retelling and more a heroine's epic journey.
