Review:

Myth: 5/5

Nesta has always been such a fierce character, that admittedly also came with a lot of rough edges, but she was this power to be reckoned with. When we find her a year later, she has spiraled into full self-destruction. Her journey, her story towards self-healing was fierce, like a valkyrie in battle. It was everything to see Nesta mold herself from vicious courtier character to a battlefield weapon. I loved every second of it.

This story is Nesta’s and Cassian’s but that doesn’t mean that we don’t get to see the Night Court. Nesta has plenty to work through with Feyre and Rhys, but they are just one part of her story. I love how this took the Night Court world we all fell in love with and somehow added to it. It gives us new characters, more insights into histories of the world that had previously only been mentioned. It really has everything we didn’t know we needed.

Magic: 5/5

I think the tagline of “untamed power” tells us what we need to know here. We get to go along for the ride as Nesta learns to deal with what she took from the Cauldron.

Overall: 5/5

SJM routinely leaves me at a loss for words and with a whole lot of feelings, A Court of Silver Flames was no different. Nesta’s story is jagged, powerful and sexy as hell. For anyone that is unsure about moving to Nesta’s story after Feyre’s, just trust that SJM has story to tell us, one that’s worth telling.
