Review:

Myth: 4/5

This series continued to get better with each book. While some of the events of Narcise’s story overlap with those from the previous books, they are new scenes and perspectives, and I’d say 85% of the book brings completely new story focusing on the Vampire Narcise, Moldavi’s sister, and the past that has been alluded to between her and Giordan Cale.

When we met Narcise in the previous books, she had fled her brother’s house with Chas Woodmore, the vampire hunter. This book starts about ten years prior to those events, a time period when Narcise was held captive, both loved and hated by her brother. When she was most broken and alone, she met Giordan. Not only does this give us an introduction to Narcise and Giordan’s story, but it also serves to highlight the atrocities of Moldavi’s house.

Magic: 4/5

I was pleasantly surprised that after two stories where the couples ended up with the vampires breaking their curse and becoming mortal, this story took a different approach.

I also enjoyed that this story brought in a little of the third Woodmore sister and that Angelica wasn’t the only one gifted with some talent from their grandmother.

Overall: 4/5

Although Dmitri and Maia were my favorite couple in the series, Narcise’s story was my favorite in pure storytelling. A lovely blend of romance, tragedy and choices.
