Myth: 3/5
These are definitely quick reads as they were released in serial, so think of each one as the length of a novella. The introduction to New Ve is beautiful and deadly within just one chapter. We meet Charlie as she is going from top of society to a slave through no fault of her own.
Charlie’s character is just getting started but she is kind and really just trying to figure out how to survive in this new life she’s been dealt. She’s experiencing a lot in this short, going from predator to prey.
Magic: 3/5
The world of New Ve is one the vampires control. It’s ruled by fear and order and so much was politically set up in a very short amount of time. There is a ton of potential here as Charlie starts to experience the society that she already wasn’t sure about from the weakest position.
Overall: 3/5
An engaging start, filled with traditional vampire seduction, and a unique world in which our heroine has been thrown to the wolves (so to speak).
