Review:

Myth: 4/5

At the end of book two Ivy thought she found the light at the end of the dark tunnel. She was still a lot further away than she realized, but it was definitely more the Ivy trying to sort through a lot of craziness in her head instead of Ivy just buried in despair.

Ivy and Ren continue to have a lot to handle and they don’t bear it all gracefully, but at some point, they remember to just be real with each other. They each have a little too much ‘I’ll do anything to keep you safe,’ but it obviously adds to the drama of the story and keeps you on edge trying to decide what crazy decisions they’ll make next.

Magic: 4/5

I don’t know how to say this without ruining anything so I will leave it at, this book was worth it for the troll induced years of therapy alone.

Overall: 4/5

I felt like this book was much more back to the quips and fantasy pop culture references I loved from the first book. Though there was definitely still a lot of ‘working through their issues,’ Ren, Ivy and Tink were much more back to their original chemistry for the home stretch of the story.
