Review:

Myth: 4.5/5

I think we can safely say that we reached the peak of new information in book 3. I couldn’t believe everything that Cady was uncovering about herself in this installment. Add to that a dash of holiday family drama and an outbreak of knack boosting potion and you’ve got another action packed adventure.

Magic: 4/5

Cady is just starting to understand her moonchild power. She certainly doesn’t have much guidance on it, but she’s learning as she goes. Things predictably get squirrely when she starts using more of her power. The end of this book is definitely a cliffhanger as a perfect storm of events sets up the showdown (and lots of motivation) for the final book.

Overall: 4.5/5

A super entertaining read. Again, I could hardly put it down. I have to say that I loved that Cady dealt with her emotions like a mature adult. She spoke to her partner when she had feelings she needed to get out and when things were going sideways. As someone who reads a lot of YA and New Adult fantasy, it is refreshing to see an action packed story, with a lot of family drama, plenty of romance but stays pretty clear from the traditional tropes of miscommunication or keeping secrets to protect someone. Cady and Lon remain a united front and are ready to tackle what comes next.
