Review:

Myth: 3.5/5

The conclusion of the Arcadia Bell series was sprinkled with chapters from Jupe’s POV. It made sense, since he was such a critical character in the series and was separated from the action for a big chunk of the book, but he wasn’t as compelling of a read for me as Cady.

The story was well-paced and Cady and Lon, even with extenuating circumstances, remain an awesome team.

Magic: 4/5

While I had a righteous indignation about the magickal plot device that fuels a lot of Cady and Lon’s time together in this book, we did finally get the playground of moonchild magick. Cady starts to understand her abilities and traces their origins, she’s always been badass, but she really comes into her own as ‘other.’

Overall: 4/5

After the cliffhanger ending of Binding the Shadows, the series finale gave us everything we were looking for in the big conclusion to Cady, Lon and Jupe’s story (not without a lot of work, duh). The family wasn’t cut any breaks as they tried to free Cady from her mother’s influence. While some parts of the story felt a little too much like we were starting all over again, Bennett didn’t deny us the conclusion we were craving.
