Review:

Myth: 4/5

Entering the hidden magical world of Kansas City was a delight. A light and engaging adventure follows Levi, owner of a local magical community newspaper, through his recounting of events after finding a dead body. The storytelling was lots of fun as it jumped between Levi’s current interrogation with the magical police and various points throughout his adventure the days before that led to his being in custody. The storytelling timeline is used so well, adding just the right amounts of sass and surprise to Levi’s story.

Magic: 4/5

Though not a licensed magic user, Levi is well aware of the paranormal community of Kansas City. He’s already on thin ice before the story starts with the magic police, and being Accused keeps his tensions with them front and center.

Overall: 4/5

Such a fun read as the murder mystery unfolds through Levi’s story telling. It reads like a cozy mystery as you get to know the small-town nature of the magical community within Kansas City, introducing you to a handful of staple characters and business owners in the community.
