Goodreads synopsis

Review:

Myth: 3.5/5

This book did such a good job of pulling you back and forth between opposing viewpoints. Nothing in this story is wholly good or wholly evil, which was a lot of fun. I found myself eager for the opposing perspective (because you always knew it was coming) for every major decision.

Alyce finds herself mistress of her own Dark Court, but has so much internal struggle with both her past and her future.

“The kiss between Aurora and me broke one curse and began another. One I will carry until the day I die.”

Magic: 3/5

Alyce’s power, the most impressive in an age, has kingdoms falling. It’s both beautiful and brutal how Alyce is able to build a court with other outcasts of both the mortal and fae kingdoms. Misrule also dives a bit deeper into the history of the kingdoms, and the history of the Briar Queens.

Overall: 3.5/5

No one comes out of Misrule unscathed. I dove right in to all the twists and turns of the Alyce’s journey. I was on the edge of my seat ready to learn if true love is really only for fairy tales.
