Goodreads synopsis

Review:

Myth: 4/5

With only weeks having passed since the apocalyptic angel invasion, things are not looking great for humanity. Penryn is my favorite kind of heroine, she is fierce, determined and loyal. She is ready to take on anything to get her sister back. While she picks up an angel companion/frenemy, Raffe, is gorgeous, sarcastic and willing to play ball to get back to the angelic aerie. The apocalypse makes for strange companions as Penryn and Raffe make their way through what’s left of Silicon Valley, unearthing dark mysteries with every turn.

Magic: 4/5

The magic here is the angelic invasion, but with a dash of unknown dark additions that came with the angels. There is so much to unravel and Angelfall just gives us a taste of what’s to uncover with the rest of the series. This will definitely be dark for a YA fantasy, similar to Hunger Games, we’re likely talking about kids killing.

Overall: 4/5

An action packed, dark YA fantasy that keeps you on the edge of your seat with Penryn as she tries to find a way to her sister. With angels, resistance armies and cannibals taking over the Bay Area there is plenty of danger and mischief for Penryn and Raffe as they try and decide what’s next for themselves and what to make of each other.
