The conclusion to Penryn’s story really had it all. So much action, forbidden love, humanities last stand, oh and the pits of hell? Sign me up. Penryn is driven, loyal and willing to stand for what she believes in. She also had to grow up way too fast given both her family situation and the end of days. Her tough exterior and her internal boy dialogue make for those delightful laugh out loud moments as she and her family find their way through the apocalypse.

I really liked the magic associated with Penryn/Raffe’s shared sword. It really did all I wanted it to in this book, and then some. I was waiting throughout the series for an ‘off-Earth’ moment, and it finally delivered.

An exciting ride to the end of days as Penryn and Raffe struggle to stay alive, express their feelings and save both of their races. You definitely don’t want to miss the conclusion of Susan Ee’s amazing trilogy.
