Goodreads synopsis

Review:

Myth: 5/5

Lark Morgan is an easy heroine to love. She’s trying her best, taking work she’s not proud of to try and support her family. She’s made even more intriguing by an obfuscated lineage and a whole lot of death magic. Book one sets this story up so well, Lark has family she’d die for and powerful players looking for ways to use her. She has to stay one step ahead of them while trying to sort out her feelings for a particularly broody detective.

Magic: 5/5

Lark has 5 rules for necromancy, you can guess how many are still standing by the end of book one. Her power packs a punch and the other supernatural players are starting to notice.

Overall: 5/5

Great characters, great story, I could barely put it down. The only downside was that I cruised through this book in a few hours and am now eagerly awaiting the next installment.
