Vhalla has made it through a lot, but she certainly still has some big battles ahead of her. This book throws Vhalla into some of her toughest situations yet, both magically and personally.
The fight for the empire continues, Vhalla and her friends are on a path to right their wrongs, but more may be needed. Vhalla’s character is put on display as she deals with guilt, difficult decisions and unwavering faith in her friends and loved ones.

This is the big finale, while the world’s magic has been thoroughly explored at this point, there are new twists and uses of magical bonds we’ve seen before.
Overall: 4.5/5
The epic conclusion that these characters and this story deserved. I picked this book up thinking, they just have to kill the bad guy and get their HEA, but there was a lot more to it than that. There was more emotional depth to Vhalla and Aldrick’s decisions and I loved the ride. I’ll definitely be picking up the next series and the Golden Guard prequel series.
