Goodreads synopsis

Review:

Myth: 4.5/5

This was another one of those books that has been on my TBR for ever. I don’t know why I didn’t pick it up before now, but I urge you, dear reader, not to make the same mistake. If you haven’t read Elise Kova, you need to. The Air Awakens is her first series and it is as captivating and page turning as her most recent releases. Her storytelling is fantastic, great pacing and always leaving the reader wanting just a little bit more.

I will say that the end took a few rapid fire turns, but I trust in the storyteller and they took us to a place that sets up for the rest of the series.

Magic: 5/5

An elemental magic system, where sorcerers are feared and separate. Vhalla, a library assistant, can’t possibly be one of them, can she? (hint: she can)

Overall: 4.5/5

A fantastic start to this epic YA fantasy series. Vhalla and the empire are on the brink of big change. Add in a dash of romance with a dark prince and you’ve got a recipe for success.
