If you enjoyed Bridge Kingdom and Traitor Queen, you’ll likely enjoy Karis and Zarrah’s story. This first book is taking place during the same timeline as the initial duology, but focused on the crown prince of Maridrina and the general and heir to the empire of Valcotta.
Magic: NA
Sometimes it boggles my mind that these books have no magic, but there I said it. They are political war and court books set in a different world.
Overall: 4/5
Unlikely lovers, and enemies in an endless war, Karis and Zarrah’s story is brutal and epic. Their story, like Aren and Lara’s, is a duology, so this ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but it was perfectly dramatic to set the stage for their conclusion.
