Evelyn and Demetria have a fast chemistry, that’s pushed forward by Evelyn’s curiosity and Demetria’s structured lifestyle. I really enjoyed this take on the mistress/companion romance.
Magic: 4/5
This was delightful. We definitely find ourselves in a human world and Demetria is the ‘wealthy eccentric.’ But from their first encounter, even though she’s veiled, Evelyn can hear her snakes hissing in delight and anticipation. It definitely fit with Evelyn’s character that she held no judgement of the monster beneath the veil and spent most of her time trying to find out more about her.

I can’t stay away from fantasy romance takes on greek mythology. This short and steamy sapphic monster romance was a perfect fit.
