Review:

Myth: 4/5

Spider’s Revenge is the conclusion of the Mab Monroe story arc. We’ve been waiting for five books to see Gin take down the big bad of the Ashland underworld and we can wait no longer.

While I continue to enjoy the overall story, some of the character interactions have gotten a little repetitive. It was really only Gin and Owen’s relationship that took new steps forward in this story. The rest continued to be comforting banter between found family.

Magic: 3/5

It seemed like Gin had already learned all she needed to for this final confrontation. It was really just about having the confrontation and succeeding. I did like the re-emphasis on opposing elements, it helped set the stage for the showdown.

Overall: 4/5

It was very satisfying to see Gin take a shot at her big bad. The build up from the last four novels has really led us to this moment. But this isn’t the conclusion of Gin’s story, while many threads are nicely wrapped up for this particular story arc, the last chapter gives us more to look forward to in the world of Elemental Assassins.
