Review:

Myth: 4/5

Book three of the Black Dagger Brotherhood jumps into Zsadist’s backstory. Zsadist has been the scarred and seemingly deranged brother on the periphery of the other stories, so I loved that we finally got his story. And Zsadist is, as we know, a twin. So what is Zsadist’s story is certainly tightly woven to Phury’s story. The brothers definitely have a yin and yang thing happening between them and it makes for a compelling, yet slightly heartbreaking story.

I am really glad that throughout the book Bella gets some moments of power. Sometimes in her dealings with Zsadist and Phury, the brothers seem to overshadow her, but there are perfect moments in the book where her strength and ability to deal with Zsadist shine.

Magic: 3.5/5

The world of the Brotherhood continues to build. We’re starting to see more of the race’s old rituals now that Wrath has ascended. In this book we also get to know a little more about the types of people in the vampire society.

Overall: 4 / 5

Book three went really well for Zsadist, but really poorly for many other major characters, of course we can’t have things going too well for the warriors. I loved the chance to see Zsadist as a romantic lead, and now have to keep reading to see how the other brothers will fare.
