Goodreads synopsis

Review:

Myth: 4.5/5

The final showdown that we’ve been building toward, Evie and her friends have to face off against the Morton King. This is fun on a lot of levels, since the in-person showdown takes place over the course of the regalia games, a series of competitive sporting events between the kingdoms. There is plenty of drama and multiple prongs to all the attacks from both sides.

The romance is more of a subplot in this story, which works well for the characters. Evie and Sully are an established couple and there isn’t a lot of focus on their relationship, it’s more focus on how he supports her to take down the king.

Magic: 5/5

It’s sort of the perfect next step in the progression on which we’ve found Evie. She knows how to wield her defensive magic with precision, she has honed skills in battle to take down her enemies in combat, and can she also find ways to wield her magic mastery as a weapon? Honestly, she’s almost too powerful, but it works because her enemies can do some crazy shit too.

Overall: 4.5/5

An epic conclusion to the Crown of Shards series. I continued to love Evie. She stayed strong, confident, and ruthless when needed.
