An epic fantasy isn’t complete until the team has searched far and wide for allies. The Call of the Void puts Casia and her friends on the hunt, leading specifically to the elven courts. This was a new introduction of the elves, it was a great addition to the world, building it’s own level of court intrigue as Casia and her friends try to recruit them to her cause.
Magic: 4.5/5
I believe this is going to be the midpoint in the series, so book three packs a punch on the magic. Tons of intriguing escalation based on the ramifications from the end of book two. This book also digs into the gods backstory, how did we end up here? And what is the larger game being played?
Overall: 4.5/5
I loved it, such a powerhouse of a main character and a great ensemble of friends and foes. The world is still expanding in this epic fantasy, but it’s not overly complex. And a fantastic romantic thread to tie it all together for me. I really can’t ask for more.
