Goodreads synopsis

Review:

Myth: 3/5

A cute cozy mystery set in Sonoma County, California. Alma is a witch with mysterious powers setting out to solve the murder of her ex-boyfriend/resident Protectorate agent. Sonoma County made a fun setting for the magical mystery with lots of fae, gnomes and other forest-dwelling mythical creatures. Expect family drama, magical bureaucracy and lots of secrets in this cozy paranormal mystery.

Magic: 3/5

Alma is more powerful than she seems, but she’s been written off by the magical bureaucratic agency for refusing an order. In her remote Sonoma home, she’s surrounded by wild mythical creatures, willing to get to know them as individuals instead of judging them as a species.

Overall: 3/5

I enjoyed the setting and the story. Alma’s storytelling was a little too explanatory instead of experiential for me, but other than that it was a fun read.
