Review:

Myth: 4/5

I was quickly sucked into the gritty post-climate apocalypse world of the Dinétah (formerly the Navajo reservation). Maggie was so easy to root for, badass, brokenhearted and alone. Badass Maggie and pretty boy Kai were also an easy pair to root for as they worked to untangle the monster mystery and each other’s past. If that’s not enough, you also get the immortal indifference and agenda of gods.

Magic: 4/5

The inherent tribal magic kicks off the story. Maggie is a monster hunter because she’s fast and good at killing. In the post-apocalyptic Sixth World though, there is so much more to deal. I loved Maggies interactions with the gods, they were flesh and blood characters in her story with unimaginable power.

Overall: 4/5

Trail of Lightening is fast-paced and full of action. It sucked me in within the second chapter and I could barely put it down.
