A fierce heroine determined to find the truth and free herself and her people, no matter the cost. Flor was a joy to read, young and resigned to her fate, but able to dare to dream for more, and take her time to figure it out once it’s in her grasp.

With lots of vampire lore already out there it was really fun to see Elise Kova play most with a twist on blood and magic. Set in the Married to Magic world, there are Elves, Lyken, and Fae referenced, but this story wholly focuses on the vampires and humans.

A tangled history leads the Vampire Lord to believe he needs Flor to save his people. A delightful enemies to lovers tension propels the pair to unravel their people’s shared history, working together against their upbringings.
