Review:

Myth: 4/5

You had me at heist crew and then exploded my heart at 1889 Paris. I loved the decadent setting of the story as we’re introduced to Séverin, the heir robbed of his house and the rest of his acquisition crew. The story is one of a history of house power, of secret society and dangerous magic. The heist vibes drew me in and the cast of characters swept me up in their magic.

Magic: 4/5

I enjoyed the introduction to the secret and powerful Order. This is a magic kept by powerful house families and plays with the story of the Tower of Babel. I can’t wait to learn more in the rest of the series.

Overall: 4/5

I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the series and I have a feeling I’m going to love the second one even more. While we’re introduced to the characters, current relationships and potential loves in book one, it seems the lead romance will face a lot of forced proximity in book two, which we all know I’m here for.
