I loved all the classic plays on time travel in this story! So much more is unraveled about Joan’s story, the true timeline, and what she’s capable of in the current one. After the events of Only a Monster, she is starting fresh, but we see how quickly that becomes a slippery slope. It’s expertly plotted and has those tantalizing YA moments.

I’m a sucker for time travel, and this story does it so well!

I had it in my head that this was a duology, so that was on me—its a trilogy. I can’t wait for the next one to see how Joan’s story wraps up. This one leaves us on a pretty big cliff hanger.
