Review:
Myth: 5/5
I was sucked into book one and book two had me by the throat from the second or third chapter. Picking up at the beginning of the next school year, Alex continues her quest to find the gentlemen demon. More mystery, more New Haven lore, more murder, and the descent we’ve been waiting for, Hell Bent packs a punch.
Magic: 5/5
Book one introduced us to the Lethe House and the secret societies, book two takes us to Hell. More of Alex’s mysteries were revealed, with a lot more to be discovered. Demons went a few steps further than monstrous beasts, this book makes magic seem dark and terrible but luring all the same.
Overall: 5/5
The Descent, was a personal favorite of mine. It was fantastically done, giving many of the characters new depths and intrigue. As Leigh Bardugo said in her book promotions, “get in losers, we’re going to hell” - enjoy the ride.
