A delightful space opera romance. Though this is a series, and the story is ongoing, each book is a specific couple’s romance. Book one focuses on the leaders, Captain Zarola and the enemy general turned payday who hired her and her crew to help find a missing item.
The characters are a delight, Octavia and Torran have a great enemies to lovers energy, possibly one too many sessions of her ogling his body, but it’s a romance, I let it slide. ;)
Magic: 4/5
Set in space, the magic is from the Valoffs, Torran’s race. Telekinetic, healing, and some other surprises, the Valoffs are full of surprises.
Overall: 4/5
It was so easy to slip into Octavia and Torran’s story. Their prejudices, their wounds from a past war and all the lies between were plenty to keep the story moving right along. This one is definitely worth checking out!
