Goodreads synopsis

Review:

Myth: 4.5/5

Marra was an excellent reluctant hero. She started young and naive, and she progressed to knowing why she was doing what she was but not really enjoying it. It made her infinitely relatable as the witches and fairy godmothers around her caused general mischief. She almost had to keep reminding herself that this was her quest.

Magic: 4/5

This was ‘fairytale magic’ but with a darker twist. Witches and fairy godmothers could speak to the dead and put forth blessings and curses. There’s also a fun sidequest to a goblin market with a little fae lore, but overall the fairytale themes are most prominent.

Overall: 4.5/5

A lovely story. I don’t know what else to say! It had a definite found family concept, a reluctant hero, and a light romantic thread. I enjoyed every moment of it!
