After confronting a Prime fire mage and saving Houston, Nevada tries to go back to business as usual. Is that even possible? Even though she returns to the daily grind, she’s focused more than ever on making sure that she’s ready to take care of herself and her family if she ever ends up in a magic situation outside of her control again. She knows that she’s powerful and she starts to work at it.
The rest of us were far from done with her and Mad Rogan. When fate throws them back together with a common enemy, this time Nevada takes a harder look at the man. She can still see the flaws, but she finally starts to see Connor behind the “Mad” Rogan exterior and we all love what she sees.
I continue to love the family dynamics. In this matriarchal household Nevada is Prime, breadwinner and family protector. She makes tough decisions, she keeps her family safe, but is willing to take their help when she needs it.
Magic: 5/5
Nevada becomes intentional about the magic she wields and the impacts of those decisions. She’s owning her magic and the strategy in unleashing it.
We also get plenty of new types of magic. My personal favorite is exploring the magical lineage and powers of Nevada’s family.
Overall: 5/5
One step closer to uncovering the big bad. I’m sure we’ll take a few steps back before getting to the conclusion, but I really enjoy Nevada and Rogan and can’t wait to see how this series wraps up.
