Review:

Myth: 5/5

We’ve seen Nevada and Connor evolve through a lot. Nevada was still pretending that she was just a normal PI a few months ago. Now she’s acting like a Prime and proving to the Houston elite that she is a Prime.

Nevada and Connor have officially decided to give it a go, but since when has anything been easy for them? Nevada is launching her House and while she knows that loving her partner is most important, she’s still learning and seeing the impacts of House ‘breeding’ not working as planned and the impacts that it has on the families. These stresses are shown when Rogan’s ex-fiance’s husband is kidnapped and Nevada takes the case.

If becoming a House and finding a kidnapped Prime aren’t enough, Nevada is still trying to untangle the larger House conspiracy that she and Connor have been fighting since their first story.

Nevada is a fantastic character. In each book she’s come more into her own and hasn’t shied away from what she has to do to keep her family safe. She’s made her way into this Prime world and she’s let it change her perspective in some areas but it hasn’t changed her fundamental beliefs.

Magic: 5/5

We finally get to see all the Baylor family magic. We also get to see Nevada’s magic in contrast with other truthseekers. In probably my favorite scene, Nevada demonstrates her command on her power in a way that leaves no room to question her power or her connection to her paternal grandmother’s legacy.

Overall: 5/5

While it was a satisfying conclusion to Nevada and Rogan’s story, we certainly aren’t done with the Houston elite. It’ll be an interesting change to see the rest of the story from Catalina’s perspective.
