Goodreads synopsis

Review:

Myth: 3/5

I’m not sure that this is the right word, but somehow the concept, though built around a destructive bureaucratic agency in hell, was really fun. Gabe sets himself apart in the first scene, though he is in hell, he cares at least somewhat about people around him. It makes him a unique character to unpack as you get to understand his story.

Judas was the perfect agency boss, though in this first installment, it definitely felt like he was missing information. He seems like he’ll grow into a big, scary mentor over the series.

Magic: 3/5

There were definitely a few layers of magic to play with, the common and the uncommon. I’m most excited to see what happens with Gabe’s secret agent powers, but his regular power manifesting will be fun to watch as well if gets anywhere near as cool as his partners.

Overall: 3/5

I can’t help but enjoy the Dante and biblical references, they make for great jumping off points in the world building and story.
