Review:

Myth: 4/5

The conclusion of the Shadow and Bone Trilogy was everything we needed. I really enjoyed how in both the second and third book things happen faster than you thought they would. I always anticipate story build up before much action, even within a series, but Bardugo gets us right back into the intensity of the story.

The unwinding of Morozova’s story was awesome world building even within the last book in the series. I really thought that pulled things together. I don’t think Alina’s conclusion would have made as much sense without her ties to trying to achieve what only Morozova had.

Magic: 4/5

We didn’t get as much of Nikolai in this book, but that’s ok, I’m thrilled with how he was set up for King of Scars and I’m sure I’ll be reading that shortly and then waiting impatiently for Rule of Wolves to come out.

I wasn’t completely satisfied with Alina’s magical conclusion, it did work best for the character and accomplished her goals even if not in the way she had imagined.

Overall: 4/5

Thank the Saints that Mal finally stopped being so mopey. His character finally got to a place that I could respect even if he wouldn’t have been my choice. The “After” section of this left me feeling all warm and tingly, so readers have that to look forward to.
