Review:

Myth: 4.5/5

Yes to everything about this book. I loved the uneasy alliance between warring families. I loved the mix of the beauty of the settings and the brutality of the fights. I loved Ramona and Matias looking back through their lives and actions and trying to figure out when their happiness took a back seat to everything else.

This story is closer to novella length, though it’s the longest of the Kinsmen books so far.

Magic: 5/5

The secare mythology was probably the most developed sub-type of Kinsmen so far. I really liked the history. As with the initial comments too, I really liked the combination of beauty and brutality in the secare world. The dance mixed with the blades. It was even better to show off their power and ferocity through the eyes of spouses who’d never bothered to see that part of them.

Overall: 4.5/5

A fast and fantastic read. I enjoyed every minute of Ramona and Matias’s adventure. You get some enemies to lovers, family power dynamics (similar to Ilona Andrews’ Hidden Legacy Series, my favorite) and lots of action.
