Best Fantasy Thieves

Best Fantasy Thieves

I’m actually leaving out Kaz and the crows from this list because they could easily take it all up. But if you love Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom for the heist vibes, here are some other fantasy thieves you should get acquainted with.

Book of Night by Holly Black

Charlie Hall is the type of heroine that sucks me right in. I loved her.

“If she couldn’t be responsible or careful or good or loved, if she was doomed to be a lit match, then Charlie might as well go back to finding stuff to burn.”

Little Thieves by Margaret Owen

Though the antihero of the story, Vanja is a delight from start to finish. Whether wearing one of her facades, or dealing with her deep seated trust trauma. She’s relatable in that she’s a girl who just wants to feel safe, but so far the only person she knows will keep her safe is herself.

Diabolical Sword by Melissa Erin Jackson

Harlow is so relatable. I felt like this girl was just trying to live her life the best that she knew how. She’d had some tough breaks, was trying to piece herself together and sure, operating on the wrong side of the law, but at the end of the day, she was just trying to make things work. She relieves a magical object from a collector, she knew she shouldn’t, she told herself she shouldn’t, oh, but she does. And from then on, it’s her and her sword, partners in crime, whether she wants it or not.

The Mask of Mirrors by M.A. Carrick

Sometimes its not just about a big heist or stealing a specific item, but its about stealing an identity and being a con-person ten steps ahead of everyone around you at all times.

Bloody Spade by Brittany M. Willows

A catboy thief with magic in spades (see what I did there). Meet Iori, one of the main characters in Brittany M Willows Cardplay Duology. He’s sneaky, he’s skittish of magical law enforcement but might be open to someone with a lot of heart.
