Best Murder Plans to Love Match

Best Murder Plans to Love Match

Enemies to Lovers taken to the extreme. They don’t just hate each other at first, but one of them comes in hot with plans to kill the other, until everyone catches feelings and we all swoon together.

Here are some of my faves:

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller

This self-proclaimed Slythryn romance is absolutely that. I have to say that at multiple points during the story I took pause and thought “huh, this sounds like what the evil king or queen would do in a different fantasy story.” Though I realized that I was essentially rooting for the villains of another story, I couldn’t help it. I loved Alessandra and Kallias.

A Shadow in the Ember (Flesh & Fire #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I was a little unsure about jumping into a prequel story in the Blood and Ash world while the From Blood and Ash series was still in progress, but I officially trust the creative genius that is JLA and Sera and Nyktos’ story absolutely delivered. I now find myself dreaming of when the next Flesh & Fire book will come out.

Queen Takes Rose (Wicked Villains #6) by Katee Robert

Sleeping Beauty is forever my least favorite fairy tale, but I have to say I really enjoyed the plays with traditional aspects of the story but throwing them into this wholly different one. I loved finally getting to learn Aurora’s bargain, and I was so excited that she got to find her person, after watching so many around her find theirs. A revenge story not ending anywhere how she imagined, with strong women and the ability to see situations from new perspectives.

Stolen Shadow Bride by S.M. Gaither

Sephia was great, I’m really into the heroine going in with a plan to kill the royal she’s meant to wed. Seems soooo easy and not complicated at all. She was determined to save her gentle sister from the monstrous fae at all costs. Sephia and Tarron had great chemistry and the world was really well developed for such a short story.

The Book of Azrael (God’s & Monsters #1) by Amber Nicole

Amber Nicole really nailed the morally grey heroine in this story. Dianna’s motivations were so clear, the just unabashed understanding of what lengths she was willing to go to for her sister. It really made for a delightful counterpoint to the buttoned up (but not really) enforcer of the order of the realms.
