Books I Waited Too Long To Read

Books I Waited Too Long To Read

In the neverending list that is my TBR (To Be Read), I can’t help but worry I’m missing out on a gem. A book or series that I will love, that I just simply haven’t gotten to yet. We can’t read everything all at once, so we have to try our best to pick the next book we’ll enjoy. I just wanted to share a few books that had been on my TBR for years, that I read recently. I’m highlighting these in hopes that if they’re on your TBR, you check them out soon!

Air Awakens by Elise Kova

I’ve loved every Elise Kova book that I’ve read, so why did it take me so long to go back to the beginning? Likely because it’s intimidating to start a five-book series with 3 spinoff series to follow. But don’t let that stop you! The Air Awakens is everything I love about Elise’s books, adventure, romance, heartbreak, and while it’s not necessary to read the Air Awakens before some of the other series in the same world, it sure makes the others just a little bit more fun.

Gild by Raven Kennedy

So many books are marketed as “like A Court of Thorns and Roses” so it’s hard to believe that when you see it. This book doesn’t do the same thing to us poor readers that SJM did with Tamlin, the reader can see the mess that is Midas from page one, but its more about watching Auryn figure it out. Her journey is amazing, and it’s not over yet. Catch up on this one before Gold comes out this year!

The Song of the Marked by S.M. Gaither

An epic fantasy romance that gives you a dash of everything you love. This book gives us hidden crowns, games of the gods, found family, and an unstoppable romance. I found S.M. Gaither through the “Stolen Brides of the Fae” short stories, hers was my favorite, but it took years after that for me to jump into her full-length novels and series. Don’t wait, give them a try sooner rather than later.

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

This one was recommended to me because of my love of heists and love of characters with so much emotional baggage they can’t express their feelings, no matter how obvious! Séverin was exactly as described, and the 1889 Parisian ambiance stole my heart. The true star of this show though was Laila and I can’t wait for more of her in book two.
