The first book in the Night Prince series gives us so much more of our beloved Vlad from Frost’s Night Huntress and much more about the mysterious Leila (who we only saw briefly at the very end of that series).

Vlad was one of my favorite characters in the Night Huntress series. Initially, I had Bones’s reprehension toward him (the Dracula character has been done A LOT). However, Frost’s Vlad was a fun interpretation. I’m looking forward to learning more about Leila, even in this initial book, it seemed like her backstory was pretty slim, you barely get a picture of her life before she’s sucked into Vlad’s. Fingers crossed that Frost just didn’t want to overload us in book 1 and we’ll learn more along the way.

Is Leila magic? I think so? Unclear. Again, hope to learn more.

A fast, easy, read that throws you into what is sure to be a fiery relationship between Leila and Vlad.
